My dad is still pissed at me for trying to order him around though. I’m hoping the smell will be completely gone by Monday so I can ship them then. So now I’ve got little bags of activated charcoal and baking soda in a plastic tub with the orders I was supposed to send out. I legitimately keep scented herbal bags in all of the drawers with my shop supplies because I’m worried I’ll end up shipping some stuff out that smells like smoke. The number of air fresheners and air purifiers I have gone through is ridiculous. I’ve gotten onto him about that too, so he started smoking upstairs. There’s been a few times where I’ve come downstairs to see him literally smoking in the kitchen. He also smokes in his car (and mine whenever he borrows it), and he’ll do it when my brother and I are in there with him even though I’ve been asking him not to since I was 14. The problem with that is that the garage is attached to the laundry room, so you can imagine how nice the clothes smell no matter how many times I wash them. Now that my mom doesn’t live here anymore, he usually smokes in the garage. She said that if she had known he smoked before they got married, she never would’ve dated him bc she hated the smell, but he apparently hid it for a while. Before he and my mom divorced, he never even smoked near the house bc she would get so upset with him. I say all this to make it clear that I can’t move out, I’m pretty much stuck here for the time being. It’s mostly just handmade earrings and art prints, I typically make about $200 a month which I know isn’t great but it’s better than nothing. I don’t qualify for disability (yay america smh), so I run a small business to make money. I’m in college online, and I have a chronic illness that makes a regular 9-5 job pretty impossible.
